The Breighton Ferry at Breighton

The country pub the Breighton Ferry has water on the left bank of the Yorkshire Derwent The owner does let people fish the river but he also has horses and sheep on the riverbank and has had some trouble with certain anglers who are not used to our way of fishing and spoil it by leaving litter on the riverbank,  he won’t let just anyone fish here now. He is quite rightly concerned about his animals and does not want vet bills. But if you are a decent river angler like most of us are I’m sure the owner will let you fish, Tell the owner you are a responsible angler and have read this on Yorkshire River Angler and know the rules  I’m sure that he will let you wet a line. This behaviour of some anglers is unacceptable and we need to pave the way ahead and prove to the landowners we are Responsible Anglers and educate anglers who are not used to our ways of fishing and rid them off our rivers.
