There is no access to the river at Kexby on the right bank downstream of the old bridge. There are private properties below the bridge that own the river fishing and access is not allowed, Although Kexby House a Grade 2 listed 5 star B&B offer 400 yards of fishing on the river for guests. No day tickets yet for the none guest river angler but ill keep you informed. As with most of the fishing on rivers in Yorkshire, a walk is necessary to the fishing, it is an added advantage to some anglers and a disadvantage to others. The advantage is you get miles of fishing with not a soul in sight and virgin fish on the whole that hardly get fished for. Pay a visit to Beevers farm on the Kexby to Elvington road, they own most of the land on the right-hand bank and they will let anglers fish who have the decency to call at the farm and ASK PERMISSION to fish, dont just walk to the river ask at the farm the lady at the farm said they get anglers from time to time asking permission and they usually let them fish, No littering or trampling on crops, of course, it is a long walk up and downstream but to some of us this can be a bonus you get peace and quiet and the river possibly all to yourself.
