The River Ure at Boroughbridge looks spectacular as it cascades over the falls and the salmon ladder, the fishing can be good too, with roach perch chub barbel, brown trout gudgeon Salmon also run the river and their numbers are increasing year by year. Or from Pybus newsagents in the town center.The Boroughbridge stretch is on the right bank just downstream of Boroughbridge the fishing starts from the bottom of the footpath that runs from Aldborough road opposite the sports ground entrance down to the river Park on roadside its a walk of about 3 to 400 yards to the river to fish the pegs nearer the town or go through Aldborough and turn down the first small path on the left [Hall Arms Lane]after leaving Aldborough, park near the bottom of the path where it widens slightly and leave room for farm traffic to pass. it is a short walk from here to the river.
