The River AC stretch

This small stretch of river from the weir to the bridge is an excellent stretch with good parking with ample day ticket water choice. Chub and Barbel are present. From the weir left bank is controlled by Boroughbridge[ AC.] This is ideal as you can park in the picnic area and fish a stone’s throw away. The fishing is from the sign near the weir down to the sign just above the road bridge.

Although this is a short section with fast water just off the weir it is more suited to fishing in the summer months. One warning there is no fishing on Sunday,s. Day Tickets are available from Baileys near the Crown Hotel across the road from the fish and chip shop. Or from Pybus newsagents in the town. See the river Ure maps for further details.

River Ure Boroughbridge

The Clubs

Harrogate & claro Conservative Angling Club control this stretch of the Ure in Boroughbridge. The fishing starts on the Left Bank downstream from the road bridge to the inlet of the canal at Milby about half a mile of fishing. Chub and Barbel are present in the river.

Parking and access

Park across the road in the picnic area car park. There is a footpath from the bridge that runs between the river and the canal up to Milby lock gates. Please note the pegs are very overgrown and the banks are steep which makes it very treacherous especially when wet so great care is needed. The club could do with taking a good look at this and sort some of the access down to the river. That said Harrogate has some good water around Yorkshires rivers. See the river Ure maps below for more details.
